About School Site Council

The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees that work with the principal to develop, review, and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets.

California Ed code requires that a school site develop an annual Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).  A SPSA is required of schools that receive state and federal funding, and is a blueprint to improve the academic performance goals of each school. Council members are elected by their peers for a 2-year term.  Contact Principal Dana Sadan if you are interested in serving or feel free to attend any SSC meetings.

Site Council meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM in the Staff Lounge of the school. Meetings are open to the public and we encourage Pleasant Valley parents to attend. Check this website calendar or Konstella for upcoming meetings.

Each monthly agenda is posted at the Front Office and Konstella. Meeting minutes available at the front office or download from this page.

The SSC is a very respectful and collaborative forum. Not only does the team help create the Single Plan for Student Achievement for the school, but they also follow up and discuss all aspects of the single plan (i.e. English Language Arts, Math, Budget, Social and Community issues). Presenters (teacher, coordinators, PTA) often join the meetings to discuss and inform members on various programs / initiatives. In 2018 the SSC discussed and implemented the first YouthTruth survey summit between the principal and parents.
